Rodan + Fields is all the rage right now. It seems I’m constantly hearing about someone who uses their products, meeting someone who is selling their products, or seeing promotions for Rodan + Fields. I just had to give them a try!

(Product sent in exchange for review. All opinions expressed are my own.)

Brand: Rodan + Fields

Product: REDEFINE Regimen

rodan-fields-redefine

Description:

The Rodan + Fields REDEFINE skincare line is a four-product regimen developed by Stanford-trained Dermatologists Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields. (And, if you didn’t already know these talented ladies, Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields are the creators of Proactiv®.)

The REDEFINE regimen includes: Daily Cleansing Mask, Pore Minimizing Toner, Triple Defense Treatment SPF 30, and Overnight Restorative Cream.

According the to Rodan + Fields website and their product packaging, the REDEFINE line is a comprehensive skincare regimen that layers cosmetic ingredients and proven peptide technology. They claim using the REDEFINE regimen will help defend against and reduce the visible signs of aging and provide noticeably firmer, smoother, flawless-looking skin.

However, it is important to note that they also state in order to achieve these results you must combine the right ingredients, in the right formulations, and use them in the right order.

Recommended Usage:

Daily Cleansing Mask
Wet fingertips and massage a quarter-sized amount of product onto dry skin. Cover the entire face with a thin coat of product, avoiding contact with eyes. Allow product to dry, approximately two minutes. Rinse thoroughly with water and pat dry. Use morning and evening and follow with toner.

Pore Minimizing Toner
After cleansing, apply evenly to entire face and neck with a fresh gauze pad, avoiding the eye area. Do not rinse off. Allow to dry. Use morning and evening.

Triple Defense Treatment SPF 30
Apply a dime-sized amount over entire face and neck every morning. Avoid eye area.

Review:

As I stated above, I was excited to try Rodan + Fields since it seemed like everyone was selling it, using it, or talking about it. So when Karla Keesler, an Independent Rodan + Fields Consultant, contacted me about reviewing some of their products on Pretty Proof, I was thrilled!

The first step in the process was to answer the Rodan + Fields consultation questions. Based on my answers Karla recommended a personalized daily skincare routine for me, which was the REDEFINE regimen.

This regimen consists of four products – the REDEFINE Daily Cleansing Mask, the REDEFINE Pore Minimizing Toner, the REDEFINE Triple Defense Treatment SPF 30, and the REDEFINE Overnight Restorative Cream.

I have been following the REDEFINE regimen for a little over a month, and I like it. Using a cleansing mask twice a day every day took some getting used to. But, I love how clean and soft it makes my skin feel.

rodan-fields-cleansing-mask

Unfortunately, I have not noticed a change in the size of my pores; however, my skin has been much clearer and almost completely blemish-free since I started using Rodan + Fields products.

My favorite of the four products is the REDEFINE Overnight Restorative Cream. This night cream is very hydrating, but more importantly it left my skin feeling firm each time I used it.

Fortunately for me, I do not have any deep wrinkles. I do have fine lines on my forehead and around my eyes, but the appearance of these lines did not diminish with the use of Rodan + Fields REDEFINE regimen.

Except for the blemishes, there isn’t much difference, if any, in my before and after photos. But, what a photo can’t show is the difference in how my skin feels. As I said, it made my skin softer and firmer.

On the back of the REDEFINE product brochure in very fine print is a disclaimer, which I included below. It basically says that results are going to vary from person to person and results will depend on things like age, skin condition, health, diet, etc. This is true for just about any product. If I smoke, don’t get enough sleep, and spend all day in the sun, my skin is going to be impacted regardless of the skincare products I use. Lifestyle has a major effect on your skin and Rodan + Fields cannot control that factor.

But, they are so confident that you will like the results of their products that they offer a 60-day money back guarantee.

Review:

I had never heard of suki® skincare until I received a sample in my monthly Birchbox delivery. (Birchbox helps consumers discover the best beauty, grooming, and lifestyle products through monthly deliveries of curated, deluxe samples that are tailored to their profiles. Each box includes a mix of products across categories—from makeup and hair to skincare and body—plus lifestyle extras.) I didn’t open the Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser right away, but once I did, I was hooked!

The suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser is different from any exfoliating or foaming cleanser that I have tried in the past. It is so gentle yet it is capable of truly exfoliating dead, dry skin and dirt. My face tingled as the sugar crystals melted and the foam began to go to work.

And, the scent. Oh the scent! It is a divine sweet, lemon aroma that makes you want to wash your face.

But, the results are what really sold me on this product. After using the suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser just one time my skin felt amazing. It was smoother and softer.

On top of all that, this is a product you can feel good about using. suki promises to use only 100% pure ingredients.

  • no allergens
  • no parabens
  • no phthalates
  • no petrochemicals
  • no synthetic fragrances/dyes
  • no sulfates
  • no cruelty

Thank you, Birchbox, for inducing me to a new cleanser that works as promised! I am now a suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser fan and am anxious to buy and try other suki products.

Review:

Despite my age, (I’m nearly 40.) I still have to deal with acne. My acne problems are fairly predictable though. They usually arrive once a month and tend to coincide with my 28 day cycle; therefore, I’m inclined to believe that most of my acne woes are hormone related. They usually show up around my hairline on my forehead and on my chest in the form of tiny white, pink, and/or red bumps. Occasionally, when I’m really stressed acne can strike at any time and anywhere on my face, chest, or back.

Fortunately for me, I didn’t have acne during my teen years and the acne I experience now is not bad, but I still don’t like it and I’m always doing my best to combat it. I wash my face twice daily, exfoliate once a week, and use products that help control my acne. (I’ve given up the idea that there’s a product out there that will prevent me from getting acne because, as I stated above, I believe my acne is mainly due to internal factors, such as hormones and stress.) I’m always on the hunt for new products that help treat the acne that does come my way, which is why I was thrilled when Jillian Wright Skincare contacted me and asked me if I’d be willing to try and review their Breakout Blocker Clarifying Serum.

I didn’t just try this product. I used the entire bottle of Breakout Blocker Clarifying Serum over about a six week period. As you may have guessed, I really liked it down to the last drop. Did it make all my acne disappear? No, but it did do what it claimed, and my monthly acne was not as bad as it normally is with use of this serum. I used the Breakout Blocker Clarifying Serum twice a day, as directed. At night I used it under my moisturizer. I used it during the day as well. On the days that were predicted to be especially hot and humid, I didn’t use any additional moisturizer. I only used the serum. Since it is non-drying and my skin tends to get oily on really hot days, the serum was all I needed. (If I was going to be out in the sun I did put on a sunscreen, since the serum does not contain any SPF.)

I have sensitive skin and this product did not cause any irritation.

The Breakout Blocker Clarifying Serum felt very good on my skin, making it look brighter and more youthful. I put the serum on all of my pink and red blemishes. It did not make the redness disappear, but it did seem to diminish the redness.   beauty product claims tested

Overall Pretty Proof Rating:
